Parenting Support

Short workshops for parents

Want to understand a bit more and learn some useful strategies? Book a workshop to run in your own home. This is a great way to share information and discuss issues with like-minded friends. A two hour workshop will cost in the region of £75 + travel and, depending on the size of your room, can involve up to 10 participants. Topics include the following:

  • Communication
  • Negotiating boundaries
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Step-parenting
  • Understanding teenagers
  • Talking about sex/drugs/money
One to one/couple support without resorting to Supernannny!

Children bring huge pleasure but also change the balance of a relationship. Couples may find themselves in conflict over differing views on parenting. The support of a trained and independent third party can help a couple negotiate differences and develop mutually agreed strategies for such things as boundary setting.

Home a War Zone? – Occasionally things can feel pretty bad and we lose confidence in our abilities as parents. Some children are extremely strong willed and determined and before long we can find we have a tiny tyrant who refuses to stay in bed/eat proper meals/behave appropriately etc. Or maybe our angelic child has turned overnight into the teenager from hell and we worry about what company they are keeping and what they are doing.

An initial assessment session with a trained professional followed by supportive follow-up appointments and a specific programme of strategies can help resolve the present difficulties and give you confidence for the future. Ongoing telephone and email support may also be negotiated.
